DPO makes power plants more efficient with its Power-First Flexible Data Centers.
DPO was formed in early 2020, when our founder connected the problem of electrical load imbalances with the solution of proof-of-work computing. These imbalances are largely driven by the increasing use of renewable power generation sources across the world's power grids.
While clean and "green," these sources are also highly variable and unpredictable and can therefore lead to large swings in total power generation depending on time of day, month of the year, and weather. This volatility in output can create meaningful movements in the underlying power prices, making it difficult for power producers of all types to match their generation with demand at any given time. In addition, there are many assets that are curtailed or have little demand for their power.
We believe there should never be another underutilized electrical generation asset given the highly flexible new compute functions that can provide value for that power when demand is otherwise low. DPO was created to help power companies better manage the output of their asset and maximize both operational efficiency as well as overall profitability.
